October at Casa de Campo: A Month We Wish Could Last a Little Longer

There are months that pass quietly, and then there are months that leave you wishing you could turn back the clock and experience them all over again. October 2026 at Casa de Campo was certainly one of those.

Imagine arriving in the Dominican Republic expecting beautiful beaches, warm Caribbean sunshine and a few peaceful days away from everyday life. Then discovering that your vacation could also include an extraordinary dinner beneath the stars, a world-class sporting event, a lively German celebration in a Mediterranean-style village and a Halloween weekend filled with surprises.

That was October at Casa de Campo. A month when the resort's familiar beauty became the backdrop to something different almost every weekend, and when the hardest decision might have been choosing what not to miss.

When Minitas Beach Became a Celebration of Gastronomy

The month began with one of its most anticipated experiences: the fourth edition of the Casa de Campo Food & Wine Festival, which reached its spectacular finale on October 10.

And what a finale it was.

Imagine an evening at Minitas Beach Club, with the Caribbean Sea just beyond the tables, music setting the mood and some of the world's most celebrated chefs preparing dishes that guests would remember long after returning home.

The festival brought together an impressive collection of culinary talent. Chef Michael Mina presented Hawaiian-inspired spiced beef, while Hubert Keller combined wagyu, Maine lobster, brie and truffle in an extravagant surf-and-turf creation. Joe Isidori brought a taste of New York with his spicy rigatoni alla vodka, while Dominican chef Gabriel Tejada celebrated local ingredients through an elegant, contemporary approach.

There was something particularly beautiful about seeing Dominican culinary talent alongside internationally recognized chefs. It was a reminder that the Caribbean has so much more to offer than its spectacular landscapes: it has flavors, creativity and a gastronomic identity worth discovering.

The Saturday events sold out, including the Grand Tasting Pavilion and the much-anticipated Dinner Under the Stars. Guests enjoyed live music, exquisite food and the freedom to wander between culinary stations, discovering something new with every stop.

Then came the moment that must have made everyone look up.

Fireworks illuminated the sky above Minitas Beach, bringing the festival to a magnificent close. The sea, the music, the atmosphere and that final burst of light created exactly the kind of evening you wish you could experience just once more.

And for anyone who missed it, there's already something to look forward to: the festival is scheduled to return in October 2027.

A Different Kind of Excitement on the Padel Courts

While food lovers were discovering extraordinary flavors, another kind of excitement was unfolding at Casa de Campo.

From October 9 to 11, the Porsche Pádel Open brought together sport, elegance and a wonderful sense of friendly competition.

With six playing categories, the tournament welcomed athletes of different levels and offered far more than matches on the court. A welcome cocktail, social gatherings and displays of Porsche vehicles created an atmosphere where sporting passion and lifestyle naturally came together.

It's this variety that makes spending time at Casa de Campo so interesting. One day might begin with a leisurely breakfast overlooking the golf course, continue with an afternoon watching an exciting match and end with dinner among friends.

You don't have to be an athlete to appreciate the energy of a sporting event. Sometimes the excitement comes simply from being there, enjoying the atmosphere and discovering a new passion.

A Little Piece of Germany in the Heart of Altos de Chavón

If there was one evening that demonstrated how effortlessly Casa de Campo brings different cultures together, it was October 17.

On that Saturday, the Main Plaza of Altos de Chavón exchanged its usual peaceful atmosphere for the festive spirit of Oktoberfest.

And what a setting for a celebration!

The stone buildings, charming passageways and unmistakable character of this Mediterranean-inspired village provided a wonderful contrast to the German traditions taking center stage.

From 7 p.m., visitors and residents gathered to enjoy music, food and a selection of beers from international and local brands. DJ Kambax welcomed the crowd, while handcrafted beer mugs made by Altos de Chavón artisans added a special local touch to the occasion.

At 8:45 p.m., the evening reached one of its most memorable moments. Andrés Pichardo, President of Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, Juan Velázquez of Costasur and Marcela Pizarro, General Manager of Altos de Chavón, led the traditional toast.

Glasses were raised, and the familiar cry of “Prost!” brought everyone together.

The celebration continued with live performances by Banda Ariel and Franklin, alongside DJ Kambax, keeping the festive atmosphere alive late into the evening.

What makes an event like this so appealing isn't simply the beer or the music. It's the unexpected pleasure of finding a German tradition celebrated in a Caribbean village inspired by the Mediterranean, surrounded by people who have come together for no other reason than to enjoy a wonderful evening.

Where else could you experience quite that combination?

Music, Magic and a Halloween to Remember

October also brought music to the Marina. On October 24, Plaza Portofino hosted a U2 tribute concert featuring Shalim Ortiz and Dos/Veintiséis, adding another evening of entertainment to the month's calendar.

And now, as October draws to a close, Casa de Campo has one more celebration in store.

Halloween Family Weekend, running from October 30 to November 1, is transforming the resort into a world of costumes, creativity and family adventures.

The festivities began on Friday with Spooky Wheels, a decorated golf cart competition accompanied by music, barbecue and night golf. Today, October 31, Altos de Chavón welcomes families for pumpkin and cookie decorating, face painting, trick-or-treating and a haunted tunnel called The Dark Passage.

There is also a live musical show inspired by Coco, while Sunday evening will bring a screening of the animated film to conclude the weekend.

It's easy to imagine the excitement of children choosing their costumes, families preparing their decorated golf carts and everyone wondering what surprises await around the next corner.

Halloween under the Caribbean sun has a charm all its own.

Some Places Give You a Vacation. Others Give You Stories.

Looking back at October, perhaps the most remarkable thing isn't how many events took place, but how different they were.

Fine dining beside the sea, international sporting excitement, German traditions in Altos de Chavón, live music at the Marina and Halloween adventures for the entire family. Each experience revealed another side of Casa de Campo.

Of course, the beaches are still beautiful, the golf courses remain extraordinary and the villas offer the comfort and privacy that make this destination so special. But there's something else here, something that photographs of swimming pools and ocean views can never quite capture.

It's the feeling of being somewhere that invites you to participate, explore and make memories rather than simply watch the days go by.

Perhaps you missed October's celebrations. Perhaps you were here and managed to enjoy a few of them. Either way, one thing is certain: Casa de Campo never seems to run out of reasons to return.

And the good news? November is almost here, bringing art, music, gastronomy and a new collection of experiences waiting to be discovered.

At RD Assistance, we believe that the most beautiful vacations are made not only of places, but of moments. And Casa de Campo has a wonderful way of turning those moments into memories.

See you in November.
